The high voltages present inside tube amps cause the components to wear and drift in value over time. Many well known tube amps also have inherent design problems from the factory, which eventually cause problems. If you have never had your tube amp in for service you should consider getting it looked at. When things in an amplifier go wrong, they can go very wrong which can make the repair more time consuming and expensive.
